There’s more to exercise than weight loss.
Exercise doesn’t need to be about weight loss.
It’s true!
There are so many reasons to move your body that have nothing to do with manipulating your appearance.
1: It’s fun!
I mean, sometimes. And sometimes not. I truly enjoy working out and sometimes I just don’t wanna. That’s ok. It doesn’t always have to be fun but it also doesn’t have to suck either.
2: My head feels better
And not in a “strength training is my therapy” way because therapy is definitely my therapy but I do think lifting heavy things and breathing a bit more intensely does calm down the chatter that’s happening up there 24/7.
3: I can do the things I want to do
Chase my big kid.
Carry my baby.
Move furniture when the mood strikes me to rearrange the room.
Carry in 5 bags from the car at a time because who wants to make a second trip?!
4: Not pee my pants
Exercise is one tool that I use to manage pelvic floor symptoms. When I’m not working out as consistently as I’d like, I often see an uptick in symptoms. Exercise has also helped me recover from having two pregnancies and two vaginal births.
5: I feel better about myself
Regardless of what my physical body looks like, I still feel better about myself when I exercise. Movement can shift our nervous system and hormones which then supports our bodies and emotions and symptoms in a variety of ways.
